The Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts Dance Department has put together a BEAUTIFUL 16-month calendar (Jan. 2017 – Apr. 2018) highlighting several of our Class of 2017 dancers. The talented Brian Guilliaux photographed all of the dancers. The calendars are being sold as a fundraiser for $40 each and will be sold through the Dance Guild. All proceeds will be used by the department to pay for master teachers and guest artists for open works.

Click on the PayPal link above to purchase your calendar online.  The calendar will be shipped to you for an additional $8 (**PLEASE NOTE: The $8 shipping fee does not appear in the initial purchase window but will be included when you proceed to check out).  In addition, you may purchase calendars in the dance office using cash or checks (made out to Friends of BTWHSPVA Dance) only.

FUNDRAISER FOR JOSHUA PEUGH

A LETTER FROM DANCE DEPARTMENT CHAIR KATE WALKER
“As many of you know, we have been fortunate to have Joshua Peugh, Artistic Director of Dark Circles Contemporary Dance, choreographing our all-school musical “Oklahoma.” During the rehearsal process, Mr. Peugh injured his knee tearing his ACL, MCL, and LCL ligaments and is now working through rehabilitation toward a surgery date in mid September. Mr. Peugh is currently without medical insurance, which makes his situation more challenging. We are raising funds through the Dance Guild to help Mr. Peugh manage the medical costs incurred through physical therapy and surgery. The total cost is estimated to be around $25,000.00, although Mr. Peugh and his partner are exploring all options available to them through the hospital as well. Any donation amount is appreciated, and is tax-deductible since it will be made to the Dance Guild. Cash or check is preferred, checks can be made out to Friends of BTWHSPVA Dance with Mr. Peugh’s name in the memo. Dontations can be delivered to the school in person or via mail, to Ms. Walker’s attention.
It is times like this when the dance community comes together to support one of our own who is in need. Mr. Peugh has been a good friend and supporter of the BTW Dance Family and now it is time to return the favor. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support. Please contact me if you have any questions.”
